1. About us
asylumcoffee.co.uk is operated by Asylum Coffee Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with its address at Unit 64a BSS House, Cheney Manor, Swindon SN2 2PJ.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Asylum Coffee Limited, and "the site" means this website and everything on it. To contact us:
- By email: [email protected]
- By post: Asylum Coffee Limited, Unit 64a BSS House, Cheney Manor, Swindon SN2 2PJ
2. Using these terms
These terms apply to your use of the site. By browsing it, creating an account or placing an order you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Allergen Disclaimer, which form part of them.
3. Information on this site
Everything on the site - roast notes, tasting descriptions, brew guides, origin stories, prices and stock levels - is provided for general information. We work hard to keep it accurate and current, but we cannot promise it is complete or free of mistakes, and we may change it at any time without notice.
Nothing on the site is medical or dietary advice. Our Allergen Disclaimer sets out what we can and cannot say about allergens; if you have a serious allergy or a medical condition, speak to a healthcare professional before trying a new product.
4. Buying from us
When you place an order, payment is taken by Stripe on a page they host. We confirm the order by email once payment has gone through. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Delivery charges are shown in your basket before you pay.
Our Shipping Policy explains where we deliver, what it costs and how quickly we dispatch. Our Refund Policy explains how to return something, what happens if an order arrives damaged, and how refunds are paid. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subscriptions renew each month until you cancel. You can change the delivery address from your account page and cancel at any time through the billing portal linked there; cancelling stops future payments but does not refund one that has already been taken for coffee that is being roasted or is on its way.
Wholesale orders are invoiced separately and are governed by the terms on the invoice, not by this page.
5. Accounts
You can shop without an account. If you create one, you must give accurate details, keep your password to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it. You are responsible for everything done through your account until you do.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We cancel any active subscriptions when you do and keep the account for 30 days in case you change your mind, after which your personal details are removed from it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that breaches these terms;
- place orders you do not intend to pay for, or use someone else's payment details;
- guess or share discount codes you were not given, or use a code more times than it allows;
- try to get around the bot protection on our forms, or use scripts, scrapers or automated tools against the site;
- probe, scan or test the site for weaknesses, or try to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to;
- send anything to the site that contains malware or is designed to disrupt it.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at [email protected] rather than exploiting it.
7. Intellectual property
The Asylum Coffee name, logo, packaging, photography, illustrations and the words on this site belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You may look at the site and print or save pages for your own personal use. You may not copy, sell, adapt or republish any of it without our written permission. Tagging us on social media is always welcome.
8. Links and availability
The site links to other websites - Stripe's checkout, carriers' tracking pages, Instagram and Google Maps among them. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what is on them. Linking to them is not an endorsement.
We try to keep the site up around the clock, but it may be unavailable while we update it or because of problems outside our control. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.
9. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or for any business loss. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in relation to goods you buy from us are not affected.
If you use the site for business purposes: we exclude all implied terms and warranties, and we are not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the order concerned.
10. Your personal information
How we collect and use your information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. The terms in force when you place an order are the ones that apply to it.
12. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
